Reminder: The Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Program application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12

Postdoctoral scholars who received their Ph.D. between Dec. 8, 2015 and Dec. 8, 2022, may be eligible to apply for a Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. Fellowships provide one year of support for individuals engaged in full-time, postdoctoral research at an appropriate nonprofit institution of higher education or research in the U.S. Those from traditionally underrepresented groups and/or have a strong history of working with or advocating for persons from such groups are especially encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Apply for a Ford Foundation fellowship!

Postdoctoral scholars who received their Ph.D. between Dec. 8, 2015 and Dec. 8, 2022, may be eligible to apply for a Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. Fellowships provide one year of support for individuals engaged in full-time, postdoctoral research at an appropriate nonprofit institution of higher education or research in the U.S.

Fellowship recipients will receive:
  • $50,000 one-year stipend
  • an invitation to attend the 2024 Conference of Ford Fellows
  • access to Ford Fellow Regional Liaisons, a network of former Ford Fellows who have volunteered to provide mentoring and support to current Fellows
  • access to other networking and mentoring resources

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a Ford Foundation Fellowship, at the time of application you must:
  • confirm holding a previous Ford Foundation Fellowship
  • be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident; or be an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, Idigenous exercising rights associated with the Jay Treaty of 1794, or granted Temporary Protected Status, asylee, or refugee
  • be working towards an electrical engineering bachelor’s degree
  • demonstrate an intent to pursue a career that includes teaching and research at a U.S. institution of higher education
  • have completed all departmental and institutional requirements for your degree, including successful defense of the dissertation, no earlier than Dec. 12, 2016 and no later than Dec. 12, 2023 in a research-based field from a U.S. institution of higher education
  • provide evidence of superior academic achievement, such as grade point average, class rank, honors, or other designations
