Apply for the DSI-MnDRIVE Ph.D. Graduate Assistantship Program by Friday, Oct. 6

The Data Science Initiative-MnDRIVE Graduate Assistantship program supports University of Minnesota Ph.D. candidates pursuing research at the intersection of Data Science and any of the five MnDRIVE areas of Robotics, Sensors and Advanced Manufacturing; Global Food Ventures; Advancing Industry, Conserving Our Environment; Discoveries and Treatments for Brain Conditions; and Cancer Clinical Trials. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 6.

Apply for the Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program by Monday, Oct. 16

Applications are being accepted for the 2024 Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program, a full-time hands-on training and educational program for early-career individuals to obtain the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in science policy at the federal, state, or local levels. The 12-week program is at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C.

Apply for the American Academy of Arts and Sciences’ Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program by Wednesday, Nov. 1

Opportunities are available for the 2023 American Academy of Arts and Sciences’ (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program. The AAAS program provides opportunities for outstanding scientists and engineers to learn firsthand about policymaking and contribute their knowledge and analytical skills in science policy or science in public policy. Fellows serve yearlong assignments in the federal government and represent a broad range of backgrounds, disciplines, and career stages. The application deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship Program application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12

Postdoctoral scholars who received their Ph.D. between Dec. 8, 2015 and Dec. 8, 2022, may be eligible to apply for a Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. Fellowships provide one year of support for individuals engaged in full-time, postdoctoral research at an appropriate nonprofit institution of higher education or research in the U.S. The application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12

Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowships provide one year of support for individuals working to complete a research-based, dissertation-required Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree that will prepare them for the pursuit of a career in academic teaching or research. The fellowship is intended to support the final year of writing and defense of the dissertation. The application deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Appy to the NSF Graduate Research Fellows Program

The National Science Foundations's (NSF) Graduate Research Fellows Program (GRFP) recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who have demonstrated the potential to be high achieving scientists and engineers early in their careers. The program works to broaden participation in science and engineering of underrepresented groups, including women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and veterans. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support with an annual stipend of $37,000. Application deadlines for the 2024 program are based on the major field of study.
