Apply for the Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program by Monday, Oct. 16

Applications are being accepted for the 2024 Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program, a full-time hands-on training and educational program for early-career individuals to obtain the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in science policy at the federal, state, or local levels. The 12-week program is at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C.

Applications are being accepted for the 2024 Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program, a full-time hands-on training and educational program for early-career individuals to obtain the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in science policy at the federal, state, or local levels. The 12-week program is at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C.

Fellowship recipients can expect to:
  • deepen their understanding of science and technology policy
  • obtain essential skills and knowledge needed to work in science policy≤
  • discover new career paths that engage both science and policy communities
  • work closely with a mentor within the National Academies
  • attend meetings and policy-related activities outside of the National Academies
  • build a network of Fellows and program alumni
Recipients also will receive an $11,000 stipend to offset living expenses during the fellowship period.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a Mirzayan Fellowship at the time of application you must:
  • be a current graduate, postdoctoral, or professional school student pursuing a terminal degree; or have obtained or completed post-doctoral/medical doctor training in within the last five years
  • be able to attend the full 12-week program in person from Monday, March 4-Friday, May 24, 2024, in Washington, D.C.
  • be based in the United States and do not require visa sponsorship from the National Academies in order to remain in the U.S. during the program dates
International students; individuals with under-represented backgrounds in the sciences, engineering, and medicine; and those with strong interest but little experience in policy are encouraged to apply.

The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 16.
